Tim King

Executive Director

After 32 years in the arts administration field in Louisville, Ky., with positions at The Louisville Orchestra (Executive Director), the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts (Senior Vice-President) and the Jefferson County Public School System (Director of Performing Arts), Tim retired to Rolling Prairie in 2013. Upon his retirement, the Lincoln Performing Arts School in Louisville named their Piano Lab after him for his efforts in creating the first public elementary performing arts school in Kentucky. After his arrival in La Porte County, he became active as a volunteer and created the A La Carte fund raising series for the LCSO which has raised over $150,000 to date for the Orchestra. In 2015, Tim came on board as Interim Executive Director of the LCSO for 9 months and helped turn the organization’s finances around. He returned in December of 2018 in the same role and will stay on as Executive Director until July of 2023 which will mark the end of the LCSO’s 50th Anniversary. In his other performing world, Tim is now retired from his singing career which included over 175 engagements with Orchestras from Buffalo, NY, to Santa Barbara, CA.
