Craig Forwalter is a cello player who has been with the LCSO for about twenty years. Although he has never made a living from music, it has still been a major part of his life and has contributed to it in many ways.
Craig is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and has just recently retired as Chaplain for the VNA Hospice of Northwest Indiana. He still serves as a pastor of a small church in Papineau, Illinois.
Craig has been playing cello since junior high school and has played in different community orchestras and quartets over the years. In addition, he has played standup bass in bluegrass bands and spent much of his time as a hospice chaplain playing guitar and singing in nursing homes. He has also sung in alumni concerts with the Chicago Children’s Choir, where he first sang when he was eight years old.
