As we approach Veterans Day 2025, the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra stands at a unique moment in American history. Freedom’s Enduring Song
On July 4, 1776, fifty-six delegates boldly signed their names to a document that would change the course of human history. The words “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal” rang out as a revolutionary call for liberty and self-determination. But those words on parchment needed guardians, men and women willing to defend the ideals they represented.
From the Continental Army that fought for our nation’s birth to the service members who protect our freedoms today, veterans have been the living bridge between the promise of the Declaration and the reality of American liberty. Their sacrifice has ensured that the bold experiment begun 250 years ago continues to flourish.
