Welcome! You begin your travels departing @10AM from Presbyterian Church of LaPorte.
- Sit back, relax and enjoy the passing views
- Upon your arrival in Traverse City, you’ll have time to check in at your
home-away-from-home for the next two nights, the Bayshore Resort - Tonight, you’ll enjoy dinner together at the Boathouse restaurant. The Boathouse restaurant takes full advantage of the beautiful bay view while also allowing you to dine in a relaxed cottage atmosphere
Saturday, October 22
- An inspiring way to start your morning — you’ll enjoy a walking tour of the Interlochen Center for the Arts. The Center describes itself as a “…hub of
creative energy, where artists and arts enthusiasts find inspiration and connection” - Enjoy lunch on your own at the Jolly Pumpkin known for its pub style food with a rustic and comfortable feel
- After lunch, you’re off to the Music House Museum with its collection of antique musical instruments, early radios and recordings
- Enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening on your own at The Village @ Grand Traverse Commons – a historic 1884 hospital complex now boasting eclectic shopping and dining. ENJOY exploring and dining in this unique setting!
Sunday, October 23
- After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll depart for Mission Point Lighthouse located at the tip of Old Mission Peninsula with a stop at the picturesque community of Old Mission Village
- The Peter Dougherty Mission House has specific historical acclaim as it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This house was built by Reverend Peter Dougherty in 1842 with the assistance of a Chippewa Village headed by Chief Ahgosa.
- Enjoy an included lunch today with the group
- What a wonderful way to cap-off your tour, a concert performance by the Traverse City Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dr. Carolyn Watson
- As you start your travels home, share with your fellow travel mates your tour experiences and highlights
