LCSO’s Student Apprentice Program
The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra is proud to offer our Student Apprentice Program, designed to bridge the gap between student musicians and professional performance. This innovative program offers advanced high school musicians the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside our professional orchestra members, providing mentorship and real-world musical experience.
Selected apprentices will participate in rehearsals and concerts throughout the season, sitting side-by-side with accomplished musicians. They’ll experience the discipline, artistry, and collaboration required for professional-level performance while contributing to the rich musical life of our community.
The program is open to students who demonstrate advanced proficiency on their instrument and a serious commitment to musical excellence. Participants will be chosen through an audition process, and those selected will receive ongoing mentorship from our principal players. This experience provides invaluable preparation for students considering music as a college major or professional pursuit, while also enriching the lives of those who simply want to experience music-making at its highest level.
