Celebrate Spring and all the youthful vigor associated with it as the Notre Dame Glee club delights you with selections from broadway, Gilbert and Sullivan and the world of Glee.  “There is Nothing Like a Dame” who enjoys teasing “Officer Kumpke”  in a West Side Story full of “Pirates…of Penzance” while waiting for their ship, the HMS Pinafore to dock.  Be mesmerized by South Shore Dance Alliance as they bring selections from “West Side Story” to life in their own unique, stylized dance.  The Children’s Chorus will dazzle you with their charm and enthusiasm keeping us all YOUNG@HEART and endeared to great music.  Each of these three talented organizations will demonstrate the mission of the orchestra – fostering talent while instilling the love of music to people of all ages.

The Magic Baton Auction held before and during the Pops Concert is always exciting!

Nominations cost $25, then voting is by donation.  The person with the most votes/donations wins the opportunity to conduct the La Porte County Symphony orchestra at the April Pops Concert!

RULES:  Anyone can vote for these candidates by pledging a donation to the orchestra. Send your pledge amount & vote to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

  • A vote can cost as little as one dollar.  However, stuffing the ballot box by buying more votes is encouraged.
  • At the concert, each nominee will have a donation box prominently displayed for additional voting/donations.
  • At the April Pops Concert after intermission, the total donations in each person's name will be calculated to determine the winner. This winner will conduct John Phillip Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever." during the second half of the program.
  • La Porte County Symphony's Magic Baton Auction provides funds that go toward symphony projects that foster musical growth in the young people.
