Ever thought about being a composer?
Through a concert designed by composer James Stephenson, children will learn about the process of musical composition through interactions with a living composer. Stephenson’s “Compose Yourself” is the framework for demonstrating the fundamentals of creating music using melody, harmony and rhythm and orchestration. Students will participate in the composing of a unique work which the orchestra will perform at the end of the concert. Many of the challenges facing composers of all ages will be explored.
